If you are ever in the Asheville area there is an amazing little venue/bar called the Pisgah Brewing Co. (pisgahbrewing.com). They have a small stage for small local bands and an outdoor stage for larger acts like Keller and the Keels whom I was blessed with the opportunity to check out a couple of weeks ago.

It was a beautiful evening in the mountains and a perfect evening for the combination of blue grass and Keller’s witty musical style. North carolina moon shine was the topic all night and a nice jar of it was even brought up on stage for the band to sample.

They played 2 long and entertaining sets filled with clever covers as well as some old school Keller originals. It was a little chilly, but he was still sporting his bare feet in classic Keller style.

Set list is as followed:

Set 1

Breath, Pepper, Crater in my Backyard, Vanilla Ice Cream, Holler in the Moonlight, Bath of Fire, You Can’t Shit on the Kings, Don’t Cross the Fiddle, Wild Horses, Play This, Gallivanting, Mountains of the Moon, Goof balls.

Set 2

Whirly Pig>Culpeper Woodchuck, Loser, Switch & the Spur, Freeker by the Speaker, Get it While You Can, Thirsty in the Rain>Star Trek Theme, Porta Potty, Lo Cal Outdoor Organic, Duprees Diamond Blues, Corn Liquor, Uncle Disney, Year 2003 Minus 25, Rehab.
