Sound Summit to Stream 2016 Concert Performances fromWilco, Los Lobos, Bill Frisell, and more to support SF Bay Area Musician’s Relief Fund on Sunday, September 27

Mill Valley, CA (September 16, 2020) , the intimate annual festival set in a stunning venue atop Mount Tam in Marin County will stream performances from its 2016 event to help raise funds for Sound Effects, its relief effort for Bay Area musicians who have not been able to gig since the pandemic took hold and will likely not be able to do so for some time. Powered by Nugs.net, the Sound Effects stream will take place on Sunday, September 27th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM (PDT). Viewing options available at soundsummit.net.

The stream will feature performances from Wilco, Los Lobos, Bill Frisell, and Bay Area locals The Stone Foxesand Matt Jaffe, all of whom have graciously allowed use of their 2016 footage for this endeavor. Conservancy, the non-profit that produces Sound Summit, is partnering with Sweet Relief, who will handle the applications for and distribution of grants to musicians. The stream is free to watch and 100% of donations raised will go to musicians, not to or Roots & Branches.

“In the absence of being able to hold this year, we just wanted to do our small part in trying to lend a hand to local musicians whose livelihoods have been seriously compromised since coronavirus dramatically altered the landscape,” said festival producer

Held in an intimate venue set amidst an expansive landscape, is a musical gathering like no other in the Bay Area and has donated $200,000 to Mount Tam to date. The festival is staged at the historic Mountain Theater, a 4000-seat natural stone amphitheater with breathtaking views of Bay and beyond.
